A typical Ann Rule book - well researched and well described people, relationships, settings, scenes and scenarios etc. If you want to read about a specific crime it is always a good idea to go through an Ann Rule book about it.In this book we meet a warped narcissistic of the highest order and a police department who could not see him for what he so blatantly was. I also just wanted to shout at the wife that it doesn't matter how much in love with a man you are, you do NOT let him treat you that way. (Thankfully things seem to have changed a little in the past few decades.) The love obsessed girlfriend DeeLisa was not spoken to or described, thus leaving out a key character of the story. And quite frankly she could have been the most applicable person for a victim trope I have ever seen!However, I believed from the write up that this would be a book-length story followed by other short stories.... Not the case. Just the one - and it was a pretty short book at that. Disappointed and won't be buying any more Ann Rule books.
